3. HAZARDS IDENTIFICATION
Hazard identification not required - product not
regarded as a health hazard under current legislation.
4. FIRST AID MEASURES
Inhalation: Avoid prolonged inhalation of
concentrated vapour/air mixtures. During handling and
processing traces of Vinyl Acetate will be unavoidably
inhaled (for further information on control limits see
HSE Guidance Note EH4C) in these cases the person should
be removed from the immediate work place to fresh air.
Skin Contact: Wash skin immediately with soap and water.
Seek medical attention if irritation persists after
washing.
While the product is not a primary irritant, prolonged
and repeated contact can cause a reaction, especially to
sensitive skins. Barrier creams or gloves in these cases
are necessary.
Eye Contact: Irrigate thoroughly with warm water. If
symptoms persist, seek medical advice.
Ingestion: In cases of ingestion drink lots of water to
dilute the swallowed chemical. NEVER MAKE AN UNCONSCIOUS
PERSON VOMIT OR DRINK FLUIDS! Seek medical advice at
once.
5. FIRE FIGHTING MEASURES
Extinguishing Media: No restriction necessary. These
adhesives are non-flammable, having no flash point, and
therefore no special precautions are necessary. There is
no restriction on extinguishing needed.
Hazardous Decomposition Products: Carbon Dioxide and
Carbon Monoxide.
6. ACCIDENTAL RELEASE MEASURES
Spill Clean-Up Methods: Contain spillages with an
inert material (i.e. sand) and dispose of waste in
accordance
with Local Authority Regulations.
Cleaning: Wash all equipment with warm water before the
adhesive dries.
7. HANDLING AND STORAGE
Storage: No special precautions are necessary. Stored
in unopened containers at 5° to 25° C PVA remains
usable
for at least three months.
Handling: When handling, it is recommended that barrier
creams or gloves are used and where splashing may occur,
wear goggles.

skin contact and goggles to avoid splashes to the eyes
where the method of application makes it necessary.

Stability: Normally Stable. If stored correctly,
product will remain in a usable state for at least three
months.

The product can be de-watered by
coagulation/flocculation and the coagulum disposed of by
